These women who appear to be guarding artwork in museums aren’t actually employed to be protecting the history that surrounds them. In fact, these Russian women simply like to sit and guard the collections in art galleries because they enjoy being surrounded by Russia’s great art. Photographer Andy Freeberg found great interest in this unusual tendency and decided to create his project, entitled Guardians of Russian Art Museums. (via My Modern Metropolis)
